Where It Took Place
The Battle of Saratoga took place in two spots, one in Freeman's Farm on September 19, 1777. The second battle took place 18 days later at Bemis Heights on October 7, 1777, where John Burgoyne surrendered to the colonists. Many colonists were amazed and stunned that the entire army of 6,000 soldiers surrendered to them, and the Americans won this uneven battle.
